More than 350 studies on the beneficial effects of Transcendental Meditation technique to mental and physical health have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals over the past 45 years. The research has been conducted at over 100 independent medical schools and research institutions worldwide. Furthermore, funding for many of these studies has come from $26 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health and $2.4 million in grants from the Department of Defense.
